I have had this free PHP host for about a month, and their web servers have gotten slower. My webpage does not load up as fast anymore.  A good thing though is that they give you more than enough space and bandwidth, and there is no file size limitations!

This has been the worst free hosting service in the whole world. Their web server has been hacked more than 10 times, and each time they come back online (sometimes months later, only to last a day before being hacked again), it seems all the previously hosted accounts are deleted.

This company provides very good stable, reliable, free web site hosting. For the price ($0.00) it is good value, and in reality 200 megs is ample for hosting many web pages. For our simple introduction website which only consists of 3 webpages, a few pictures, and some links, it is just great. Up time as monitored by mon.itor.us free website uptime monitoring service seems great, and like the web in general sometimes it is a little faster than other times. Web stats are basic, but then all you really need is the basics. If you want more, then use a third-party stats, or your own script, or pay for it. The control panel is useful, and there are a few ads on the welcome page. Ftp is allowed, and it puts no ads on any of your site. What is not to like about Awardspace freehosting?

Registration first did not work, and then I saw the error in the url -- it said that I used illegal characters in my password, and I think that they do not allow spaces in your passwords. Then after receiving the e-mail, I tried to login to Cpanel with my new password and username, and it said that my password was too long. The registration form needs better validation of input to warn of such problems.

This host is not bad one, and many features are supported. The real problem is sometimes the server displays error messages and sometimes its not responding. But when it works, webmasters will have a beautiful web panel and 300 MBs allowed webspace. Some other goodies are also available: 3 databases and an excellent chmod tool. All filetypes are allowed, and the filesize limit looks to be big (so a 5 mb file can be FTP-uploaded with no problem).
Cons: cpanel does not work at all with Netscape, SPIP script can not be installed automatically (I do not know why; perharps it can not make directories), and listing available mysql databases is denied (perharps for security reasons).
For me it is a good webhoster, but I do not know if it will keep going at no charge, or become a paid hoster soon, or quit altogether.

Of all of the free hosting sites I have used before, RifeHost has the most ease-of-use. cPanel is very nice to have, and I have not ever found it on another free host before. Another bonus is the large amount of features -- on the first free hosting plan you earn, you have plenty to work with: 30 mySQL databases, 300 MB of disk space, 3 GB of bandwidth, and so forth. There are a multitude of features and included scripts (Joomla and phpBB, for example), and even with the smallest plan, you still get plenty of web hosting space free. I would definitely recommend this host to anyone (in fact, I have).

This is a GREAT host to use with all scripting languages that I use. The only down side is that some gaming scripts require TABLE LOCKING in MySQL and they disable this due to performance hits by large "loady scripts" that use a lot of server resources, as I was told. This will affect a minute amount of people, but otherwise this is an almost perfect freehost!

Well, the host is OK. It has Mysql, fully working GD2, PHP, etc., but there was a moment when this host was not working for a WEEK, and there was not any resposnse from server admins. I lost my homepage, and I had to move to another web hosting server.
