I have been using 110mb.com for two months now. It is one of the best free web site hosts I have been on so far, with good features that are delivered. It is experiencing some growth aches, but downtimes are scheduled and announced, or explained and fixed relatively quickly if unplanned. There are some downsides however: - Limited number of simultaneous FTP users on each server (50 for each of the 10 "boxes"). Most of the time this is not a problem, as the control panel is fast and efficient, allowing uploading and unpacking of whole zip files if needed. - Functions to allow emailing from your websites such as fsockopen and php mail are disabled by default, as on 99% of free hosts. It is possible to have them turned on, which is a big plus, but that takes a while, as they seem flooded with support requests on those topics.

Astahost is the best free web-hosting site I have found. You have to post in the forums on mostly technical topics to get hosted and stay hosted. So if you do not want to continually post on message boards, do not even come here. But posting is worth it! You get great FREE help from the best community around. Astahost offers some great features that have already been listed in other web hosting reviews. As for the admins and moderators, I have never had any problems, and I have been there over 9 months now. When I have had a problem, I have gone to them and it has been fixed. There has only been two incidents of downtime while I have been there: one for a web server upgrade, and one... well, it happens. Overall this is a GREAT host!

I have tested many free hosting sites, and this is by far the best one I have ever been on. I found awardspace.com by searching for "web hosting no banners". I always hated having banners on my site that were not mine or were of advertisements of which I did not get paid for having on my site. I was not just pleased with there being no banners, but awardspace.com allows you to use FTP access also, which has always been reliable and FAST. Also, my web site has never been down since I registered it in 2006. So awardspace.com is one of the BEST free web space hosts out there. But now I am going to talk about the cons. The file limitation sometimes gets on my nerves, but perhaps this is because I am using their free hosting plan and not their paid one. If you plan on making a full-out flash site with music and flash galleries, I would not recommend awardspace. But for EVERYTHING else, it works great and it is just awesome!

This free home page host is fine, and has fast speed and instant account activation, but it did not allow me to upload .doc and .exe files. It says you can upload MP3 audios and Flash files though. This was the first webhost I have seen using SHP - Sciurus Hosting Panel webpanel. They recently (March 8) had a short downtime due to changing servers. The freehosting features unlimited bandwidth and a 5 MB filesize limit.

Positive aspects: The filesize limit of upload of files is 10 mb, so is great for making your large file available to others. Perfect! It was a great site when I signed up 1 year ago. Now this site is getting worse and worse as it gets older. Last December they had 1 week which they fell off the grid completely, and there was no access. After the site came back up, I could no longer log into cPanel or my ftp accounts. So I posted on their forums, and all the mods locked my 2 post attempts. Now I am looking for a new host. They really have had too much down time. It should say 75% uptime because that is about right overall.

I signed up for the free web hosting package from Byethost. I had been searching for a good and free web hosting alternative for ages, and never found the perfect one, until now. Byethost is the best free service I have used, ever. It is simply perfect. It has had great uptime (99% at least), and the best support I have been in contact with, no ads on your pages, and it is even on a fast server. It is just free and great! After being with them for around half a year, I could not resist, and I upgraded to a paid hosting package from Byethost and got a .com domain name as well (included in the hosting package). All in all, if you are looking for a free web hoster, got for byethost! If you want a non-free web host, go for byethost as well!

Well it is free web page hosting, and it is simple (like having a road but no cars to drive on it). However I had to give a 2 rating for effort. Perhaps their talked about updates will improve to basic level. You cannot use CGI or PHP scripts or MySQL database. In case I forgot my password, what can I do? Nothing. There is no chance to get your password recovered -- sorry!

I host a domain name site on awardspace now, and its service overall is quite good. You can do uploads with ftp (good) or browser (3 files at a time). You cannot upload mp3 files or certain file names. The FTP seemed somewhat unstable; maybe it has limit on max uploads per transfer, but I could not find anywhere that says this. The mysql/phpmyadmin is EXCELLENT! All directories MUST have an index file. If it does not have one, then the host redirects to their own page, so your visitors know exactly who your domain name is hosted by (of course they would know this anyway if they just did a simple whois lookup to see the nameservers).
